Our clients often arrive at Palomar fresh from traumatic events. They may not have eaten for hours, sometimes days. It is so important to have basic needs met while making important decisions and taking protective action.
We are asking you to sign up to provide a week’s worth of these items. Your volunteer(s) will deliver the items to Palomar on Monday morning between 8am and 9am. Your volunteer will organize the donated items in the refrigerator and cabinets with assistance from our staff.
Examples of Popular items:
- Sandwich making provisions: Bread, Deli Meats, Cheese, Mustard, Mayo
- Fruit (Bananas, Apples, Oranges, Cuties/Halos)
- String Cheese
- Individually wrapped healthy snacks
- Bottled Water

Palomar is client-centered and believes in survivor autonomy and empowerment. Gift cards (Target, Walmart, Gas Cards, etc.) are a great way to make a donation that leaves room for client choice and helps us meet the needs of clients with specific concerns (such as food allergies or restrictions).
Other items you might like to donate include:
- Bottled water
- Juice boxes
- Tea and coffee
- Coloring books (adult and child), markers, and crayons
- New blankets
- Hygiene products, hair products, and natural hair products
- Toilet paper
- Pet food & pet care products
We are very grateful for the outpouring of generosity from the community. However, many of our clients have allergies and for the health and comfort of our clients, we ask that all donations be new and unused. This includes: teddy bears, clothing, etc. If you have questions or would like further information, please contact us at 405-552-1010.
