Legal Services at Palomar
If you have legal concerns or aren’t sure of your legal rights, you have options at Palomar.
Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma (LASO)
Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma (LASO) is a non-profit law firm that provides legal services to victims of domestic violence on-site at Palomar. LASO staff attorneys at Palomar can assist with legal matters such as:
- Victim Protective Orders (a court order designed to stop violent or harassing behavior)
- family law matters (divorce, custody, etc.)
- housing (landlord-tenant) issues
- immigration issues
LASO is accepting applications for legal services. Visit www.oklegalconnect.org or call 1-888-534-5243 Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Say that you are a Palomar referral when talking to the intake specialist.
Palomar Legal Network
If for any reason you do not qualify for LASO services, Palomar Legal Network might be able to find an attorney to represent you at a free or reduced rate through a network of volunteer attorneys or licensed legal interns.
To get help finding an attorney, complete the “Authorization for Release of Information” that will allow LASO to share your application information with the Palomar Legal Network for purposes of finding you an attorney.
Who Qualifies
Any person who wishes to receive legal help from LASO or the Palomar Legal Network must apply for assistance and meet eligibility guidelines. Neither LASO nor the Palomar Legal Network can offer assistance with criminal cases, tickets, or fee-generating cases such as personal injury matters. Due to demand and attorney availability, neither LASO nor the Palomar Legal Network can guarantee an attorney will be available to represent you. However, if an attorney is not available to represent you, Palomar can advise you of other programs that offer free legal services to low income clients.
Legal Q&A Day
Palomar has partnered with area law firms to hold monthly virtual legal clinics. The “Legal Q&A Day” program provides information about your options, gives limited legal advice, and offers assistance with forms that would allow you to represent yourself in court. If you would like to apply for legal assistance through the Palomar Legal Network “Legal Q&A Day” program, please fill out the form below. Once you have completed the form, the Palomar Legal Network will be in touch to advise you of when you can expect contact from a volunteer attorney.
