General Description of Role: The Volunteer and Engagement Coordinator is a full-time position that will be responsible for the outreach, recruitment, training and tracking of prospective and ongoing volunteers. This position also coordinates engagement activities and training opportunities for current volunteers, on-site partner organizations, and staff. The coordinator will also assist with special events hosted by the organization. This position is key to ensuring an ongoing culture of collaboration and self-care.

Reports to: Director of Community Cultivation

Essential Functions:

  • Pursue relationships with schools, corporate partners, faith-based organizations, and others to recruit a diverse pool of prospective volunteers and interns
  • Present information to groups interested in learning about Palomar
  • Coordinate open houses for partners, community, donors, etc. and Palomar’s presence at community events
  • Coordinate and assist in tours and special events
  • Responsible for volunteer and intern training and partner and staff onboarding
  • Track volunteer and intern data
  • Collaborate with program needs to identify volunteer and intern placement needs
  • Create opportunities for connection and appreciation for volunteers, interns, partners, and survivors as well as feedback loops
  • Identify ongoing training opportunities for staff and partners
  • Develop creative ways to ensure continued collaboration and effective internal communication

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1+ years’ proven experience in volunteer management
  • Demonstrated skills in networking and building connections to benefit the organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proven experience with public speaking
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and an ability to effectively prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, while also a motivated self-starter and independent worker
  • Committed to putting into action the organization’s core values of resourcefulness, trust, courage, hope and compassion
  • Working knowledge of Oklahoma City’s nonprofit community
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Understands, appreciates and advocates for the mission of Palomar and has a knowledge of crime victims, trauma informed care, etc.
  • Must successfully pass a background check

Salary range is $39,500-42,500
