"Self Preservation" was submitted to the 2021 Symbols of Hope art contest by Conlan Woodward from Mount Saint Mary High.
"This art I crafted has already been painted. It foretells what would happen if we let our environment decay and starve due to our ambitious needs. It depicts that once our earth has reached its limit, we have nowhere left to run except stay. Through the window, you can see a multicolored sky. It is a timeline from left to right. The grass growingly starts to get dryer, the plants start to die off, and the animals begin to suffer. IT can also be looked both ways, as a progressive timeline. The inside of the house is vivid and lush of green, It symbolizes the potential we humans have to save the earth. Global warming was caused by us, but our ambition for needs it less than the ambition to live."
